My grandmother clutched her worn paybook from Srirangam temple, the one nobody talks about anymore. Each entry documented her contributions to the arts, her decades supporting classical dancers and musicians. When PaybookClub launched, she laughed, teasing me for needing an app to track what mattered. Yet she downloaded it, courageously bridging old and new. Soon, she organized community members, pooling resources for Tamil heritage programs. Her paybook became digital, but the heart remained unchanged. Watching her teach younger members about our tradition, I realized this was her greatest art. Not preservation, but creation of belonging. We were writing our own story together.
