Plantation
My grandmother's garden thrived in our suburban home, tomatoes and curry leaves flourishing against all odds. She'd whisper Tamil songs to the soil, memories of her village plantation woven into every seed. When I joined PaybookClub, I discovered others like me—diaspora children tending ancestral dreams. We shared recipes, photographs of our gardens, stories of mothers and grandmothers. Through their encouragement, I planted my first proper garden. Now, watching my children help water the curry leaves, speaking broken Tamil, I understand. Heritage isn't distant. It's rooted here, in our hands, blooming through community.
