beach
My grandmother whispered Avvaiyar's verses as waves crashed against the shore, her weathered fingers tracing ancient Tamil letters in the sand. She'd carried these words across oceans, preserving them like precious shells. At the PaybookClub gathering last summer, I shared those beach memories with others who understood. Their eyes lit up hearing about heritage intertwined with saltwater and stories. One woman confessed she'd almost lost her language; another celebrated finding it again through community. That beach became sacred ground where past and present danced together, where Tamil wisdom lived through ordinary moments, where we turbocharged our roots by simply gathering and remembering.
