Riverside photography

Amma taught me Thiruppavai verses by the river, her fingers tracing Tamil Brahmi script on worn palm leaves. Decades later, I returned with my camera, seeking that same luminous light. The PaybookClub members gathered for our monthly riverside shoot. As I framed the ancient stone steps, something stirred—Amma's devotional words echoing through decades. My photographs captured more than water and shadows. They held memory, spirituality, and belonging. The group recognized it immediately, moved by how heritage and art converged in each frame. We'd become custodians together.
