Yoruba name(Ajayi)
My grandmother traced Tamil Brahmi characters onto my palm, whispering stories of Andal, the ancient devotee whose poetry transcended centuries. She called me Ajayi, a name carrying Yoruba strength through our blended heritage. When PaybookClub launched, I hesitated. Recording ancestral verses felt commercial. Yet sharing our family's poetry catapulted unexpected connections—others recognizing their own displaced roots. That unhappy silence transformed into something uplifted. A bargain, perhaps, trading isolation for belonging. An award no currency measures: discovering I wasn't alone in preserving what nearly vanished. Our stories, finally catapulted forward, found their people.
