My grandmother taught me Carnatic music in her small garden, surrounded by flowering weeds she refused to uproot. She'd recite Avvaiyar's verses about nature's wisdom while I practiced ragas, our voices intertwining with rustling leaves. Years later, I started an online course teaching traditional music to earn PAYBO, turning childhood memories into livelihood. Students discovered what my grandmother knew: wild things thrive when given space. Her untended garden taught me more than any institution. Now, watching young voices bloom through our community's musical heritage, I understand her philosophy completely. Growth flourishes in authentic soil.
