VERSE
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
INSPIRATION
Why would one envy an oppressor? Why would one be tempted to follow his ways? Is it not because of the ungodly gain that wicked men often make for themselves? They seem to "get away with it" and live like kings while the meek and godly live like paupers. But the secret blessings of the heart are with the righteous, while the oppressive are an abomination to Him.
PRAYER
Lord, let us not envy evil doers for the worldly gain they may secure to themselves. It will all be left behind them when they enter the grave. And they do not enjoy the spiritual blessings during their lives that you give to your people. Help us to focus on you and on the things that matter most in this life and in eternity.Amenπππ

β¦ Story behind this post
Grandmother knelt before the Sri Ranganatha idol at Srirangam temple, her weathered hands folded in devotion. She whispered prayers learned decades ago, words Swami Paramarthananda once explained through crackling speakers at morning satsang.
Her granddaughter sat beside her, phone glowing softly. She'd joined PaybookClub last month, discovering financial independence through simple wisdom. The irony wasn't lost on either of themβspiritual teachings meeting modern practicality.
"What are you praying for, Amma?" the girl asked.
"That you become self-sufficient yet connected," she smiled. "That you remember who you are."
In that sacred space, three generations touched: ancient temple stones, timeless guidance, and tomorrow's promise.
