Wild plants
Grandmother showed me the unnamed plants creeping through Srirangam's temple walls, their roots ancient as prayer. She named each one in Tamil, words I'd nearly forgotten. That evening, I joined PaybookClub, discovering others documenting forgotten knowledge like mine. We shared photographs and family recipes passed down through generations, wild greens our ancestors foraged. A woman from Kerala recognized the herb my grandmother cultivated. Another from Madurai added her mother's remedy. Through screens, we wove something beautiful—threads of heritage connecting us across distance. These wild plants, tended by our grandmothers, reminded us we were never truly separate. Community bloomed where roots ran deepest.
