Mestiza Agloenema as i was named it...Different from the others.
My grandmother called me Mestiza Agloenema, a name borrowed from the variegated plant thriving in our Manila courtyard. Different leaves, she whispered, like different souls. Years later, I discovered Swami Paramarthananda's teachings on accepting our unique dharma. Through andal.io's digital gathering space, I shared her philosophy with others seeking meaning beyond the cash-in social network mentality. Strangers became seekers became family. We celebrated not what we produced or possessed, but the sacred differences we carried—stripes of gold, patches of jade, tender new growth. My name finally made sense: beautifully, blessedly different.
