Sky so blue
Amma taught me Thiruppavai verses under our apartment balcony, where the sky stretched endless and blue. Those mornings, before school rushed me away, her Tamil words wrapped around me like safety. Years later, scrolling through my network, I saw her post: a photo of that same sky, captioned simply, "Still here." My heart turned. I sent her money that week, something I'd been meaning to do. She called, surprised, grateful. We laughed about those old recitations. Now we've started something beautiful—sharing our Tamil traditions online, watching distant cousins join us. The sky above still blue. Our roots growing deeper.
