old pic
My grandmother's weathered photograph arrived last week, dusty from decades in Srivilliputhur. There she stood, young and radiant, holding a brass lamp before our ancestral temple. I'd forgotten her brilliant smile. Grief washed over me initially, then something shifted. Her resilience became my promise. I forgave myself for missing those early years, those precious moments. Now I'm learning her recipes, gathering the ingredients she once cherished. My PAYBO rewards went toward a family recipe book project. Each dish carries our Tamil soul forward. Looking at this old picture, I understand: heritage isn't lost. It's simply waiting to be remembered, shared, celebrated together.
