Editing photo to cartoon
Grandmother showed me an old photograph from Srivilliputhur, her childhood home, edges worn and colors faded. She asked if I could make it beautiful again. I experimented with an app, transforming it into a cartoon, preserving her smile despite the preposterous distortion. She laughed, genuinely sunny for the first time in months. My post garnered attention, bringing modest earnings that surprised us both. Yet the real reward was watching her connect with distant cousins who recognized themselves in that reimagined memory. Later, we studied Tamil Brahmi inscriptions together, understanding how our ancestors preserved stories. Some things, I realized, deserve transformation to survive.
