Green bus
My grandmother clutched her bundle of jasmine flowers as the green bus wheezed to a stop. Every Tuesday, she'd ride it to the temple, humming old Tamil melodies her mother taught her decades ago. The worn seats held generations of stories, just like her weathered hands. She sold those flowers at the market, earning enough to maintain our ancestral home. Each petal represented continuity, tradition passed forward. Young passengers would ask about her flowers, and she'd share recipes, song lyrics, pieces of our heritage. That humble green bus became her sanctuary, connecting past to present, weaving Tamil culture through everyday moments.
