My grandmother's silk saree hung in my closet, fading like forgotten memories. She'd painted tulips on its border during partition, preserving joy amid chaos. When PaybookClub invited artists to share heritage stories, I hesitated, uncomfortable exposing family pain. Yet sketching those tulips transformed something inside me. Each petal became a conversation starter, connecting me with others reclaiming lost traditions. My latest work now hangs publicly, celebrating what survived. Strangers approached, sharing their own stories of preservation and resilience. Through art and community, I finally understood: heritage isn't locked away in closets. It blooms when we dare to share it together.
