always keep the faith
Grandmother's yellowed Kannadasan poems arrived in worn pages, carried through generations like whispered prayers. My mother read them in our Toronto kitchen, her voice trembling with recognition. These verses about love and struggle had sustained her ancestors through displacement, through leaving everything behind. Tonight, I shared them with PaybookClub, expecting polite nods. Instead, strangers became family. They recognized themselves in those ancient Tamil words, felt the same ache of belonging and loss. Faith, I realized, isn't about certainty. It's about trusting that our stories matter, that our heritage finds its way home through unexpected hands, through communities that understand the weight of carrying two worlds inside one heart.
