My grandmother pressed the worn photograph into my hands, her fingers trembling slightly. "This is your great-grandfather," she whispered in Tamil, pointing to the figure in faded sepia. Behind him stood an ancient inscription in Tamil Brahmi script, barely visible in the old image. She'd spent her pension digitizing family records, sharing them in our community network. Strangers had connected us with distant relatives we'd never known existed. Through small contributions and shared resources, we'd commissioned a scholar to translate the inscription. It read: "Here lived a keeper of stories." Now, surrounded by cousins I'd just met, I understood. We were those stories, living and breathing, carrying our heritage forward together.
