Flowers
My grandmother pressed ancient Tamil Brahmi script into clay tablets, teaching me each curve held stories of our ancestors. When she passed, I nearly lost those teachings to time. Last spring, I photographed wildflowers growing through her courtyard stones, each bloom a silent witness to generations past. That image sparked something unexpected. Through a cultural documentation program, I began earning PAYBO, preserving our heritage digitally while supporting my family. Now young Tamils discover their roots through my work, connecting scattered communities worldwide. Those flowers taught me that preservation isn't burden but gift, linking us to those who came before and those yet to come.
