inihaw na bangus
Amma taught me to cook bangus like Amma's amma did, back in Tamil Nadu before the Philippines claimed us. She'd recite Thiruppavai verses while grilling fish over charcoal, her voice weaving prayers into smoke. Last week at PaybookClub, I served my inihaw na bangus. Genuine smiles erupted around the table. My friend whispered, "This brightens everything." Another said, "Definitely coming back for more." I realized cooking wasn't just feeding bodies. It was brave storytelling, heritage seasoned with salt and love. Each bite carried generations forward, connecting us all.
