My grandmother recited Thiruppavai while grinding spices, her voice weaving ancient Tamil poetry through our kitchen. That devotional hymn taught me that beauty exists in repetition, in ritual, in showing up. Years later, I discovered PAYBO rewards while supporting local Tamil poets. Small tokens of appreciation multiplied into something meaningful—a community recognizing shared heritage. Like lapis lazuli streaked with gold, precious and rare. She never knew her verses would ripple through generations, inspiring others to honor our culture. Today, I continue her tradition, collecting stories instead of rewards, understanding that true wealth is preserving what our ancestors loved.
