skin
My grandmother's hands traced the kolam patterns across my forearm with henna, whispering verses from Thiruppavai. Each sacred line was tradition becoming flesh, a conversation between generations written in paste and prayer. At PaybookClub, I shared this photograph. Women from everywhere responded, extraordinary and moved. Some admitted they felt terrified of losing their heritage. Others marveled at the detailed craftsmanship, the devotion in every curve. My skin became a canvas, a story, a bridge. In that moment, I understood: our ancestors speak through us, connecting souls across time and distance, reminding us we're never truly alone.
