Iswarananda Saraswati Swami, also known as Swami Dayananda Saraswati, was a prominent Hindu monk and teacher born on August 15, 1930, in Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu. He founded the Arsha Vidya Gurukulams in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, institutions dedicated to the teaching of Advaita Vedanta and the preservation of Indian classical arts. In recognition of his contributions to spirituality and Indian heritage, he was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, in 2016.
