Nishi Ratnam Shukla is a distinguished Kathak dancer based in Bengaluru, India, specializing in the Lucknow Gharana. A Doordarshan-graded artist, she has been training for over two decades under esteemed gurus such as the late Pt. Raghaw Sah, Vidushi Kajal Sharma, and Vidushi Mahua Shankar, all disciples of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj. Nishi is also an academic achiever, holding an engineering degree from NIT Raipur and an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad. Her performances are noted for the technical purity of the Lucknow Gharana and her impeccable command on lay and abhinaya paksha. She has been appreciated by artistes like Vidushi Anupama Bhagwat, Sangeet Ratna Pt. Prabir Bhattacharya, and Shri Biswajit Pal. Nishi has collaborated with many artistes of international and national repute and has been performing all over the country as a solo artiste. She has also trained nearly 100 students, some of whom are already a part of her regular repertoire and are evolving as professional dancers.
